A Telegraph Best Children's Book of 2020

A rich and beautiful counting book full of gorgeous baby animals, with shaped pages, flaps and fold-outs from the UK's favourite author Julia Donaldson and award-winning illustrator Sharon King-Chai.

From a leopard with her cubs, to a frog and its tadpoles, young readers will delight in counting each creature's babies and seeing where they live. With rhyming text and a surprise search-and-find game, this is a read-aloud delight and an absolute must for the family bookshelf. A truly beautiful gift, and the perfect companion book to Animalphabet.

"[Counting Creatures is] engaging, rewarding, and utterly delightful." - Kirkus, STARRED REVIEW

Julia Donaldson has written some of the world's best-loved children's books, including modern classics The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo's Child, which together have sold over 25 million copies worldwide and have been translated into over one hundred languages. Her other books include Room on the Broom, Monkey Puzzle, and The Snail and the Whale, illustrated by Axel Scheffler, The Hospital Dog, illustrated by Sara Ogilvie, and the hugely successful What the Ladybird Heard adventures, illustrated by Lydia Monks. Julia also writes fiction, including the Princess Mirror-Belle series, as well as poems, plays and songs - and her brilliant live shows are always in demand. She was the UK Children's Laureate 2011-13 and has been honoured with a CBE for Services to Literature. Julia and her husband Malcolm divide their time between West Sussex and Edinburgh. Sharon King-Chai is an enormously talented designer and illustrator. Having grown up in Australia, she moved to London in 2003 and since then has brought her style and eye for beautiful design to album covers, book covers, and stationery. Her solo picture books include Starbird, winner of the 2021 Kate Greenaway Shadowers' Choice Award (chosen by the fans), as well as Lucy Ladybug and Snail Mail.
