Corriedale Wool Roving (25g)

Corriedale wool has a defined, even crimp and is smooth and easy to spin or felt. You can spin a fine to medium woolen, worsted or semi-worsted yarn. Corriedale will bulk after washing and has good elasticity. It is ideal for baby wear, woven, knitted, crocheted or felted garments.
How much wool do you need to wet felt a mat?
Keep in mind that everyone will use slightly more or less wool based on how thick they make their mat. You'll also want to err on the side of caution and make your mat a little thicker rather than not thick enough (you don't want to end up with super thin spots or holes).
For a smaller 12" by 12" mat I recommend four 25g balls. For a larger mat just use this estimate to guide you. Example: for a 24" x 24" mat- double it, so approximately eight 25g balls. For play mats, using different shades while layering gives it a really beautiful effect, so don't be afraid to grab a few different shades of green for grass or different blues for water.
